News and Information
Recently, with the official commencement of operations of China's first domestically built large cruise ship, the "Adora Magic City," the extensive domestic supply chain behind it has come into view. Jiangsu Yousenyuan Display Props Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yousenyuan"), as one of the core suppliers for the ship's entire furniture system, has successfully completed all tasks from design and production to installation. With its outstanding quality and reliable service, the company has passed the ultimate test of this top-tier project. This achievement not only signifies that Yousenyuan's technical capabilities in the field of marine furniture have reached the industry's cutting-edge level but also highlights the increasingly strong localization capabilities of Chinese enterprises in the high-end marine equipment sector.
Confronting Challenges: The Extreme Demands of Luxury Cruise Ships
Luxury cruise ships are known as "floating cities at sea," and their interior furniture systems face more complex and stringent challenges compared to conventional vessels. A Yousenyuan project manager explained, "Cruise ship furniture is not only a functional carrier but also a core component of the passenger experience. It must simultaneously meet three extreme requirements: absolute safety, strict environmental standards, and an ultimate aesthetic experience." Regarding safety, all furniture must comply with the highest fire resistance, moisture resistance, and seismic standards. In terms of environmental standards, it requires the use of top-tier eco-friendly materials with zero formaldehyde and low VOC emissions to ensure air quality in enclosed spaces. Aesthetically, it must perfectly integrate with the overall interior theme to create a luxurious, comfortable, and artistically appealing living environment. Additionally, the complex spatial structures of cruise ships impose nearly stringent demands on furniture dimensional accuracy and custom capabilities for irregular shapes.
Ingenuity: Regionalized Customized Solutions
To address these challenges, Yousenyuan formed a core project team comprising senior designers and engineers, providing a full-process, customized solution for the "Adora Magic City."
Public Areas: Furniture designs for lobbies, restaurants, and bars emphasized visual impact while prioritizing durability and ease of cleaning. Yousenyuan employed a process combining high-strength metal frames with special stone and real wood veneers, ensuring structural stability and lasting aesthetics under high passenger flow.
Cabin Areas: Given the limited cabin space, Yousenyuan leveraged its expertise in space optimization. Cabinetry, desks, beds, and storage systems within the cabins were designed integrally and modularly, maximizing usable space while fulfilling all functional requirements. Details such as rounded edges on all furniture and the application of non-toxic coatings reflect thoughtful consideration for passenger comfort and safety.
Commercial and Sanitary Areas: Shop shelving and island display cabinets focused on flexibility in presentation and lighting effects. Washbasins and mirror cabinets in sanitary areas strictly adhered to waterproofing and moisture resistance standards, ensuring long-term safety and cleanliness.
Collaborative Efforts: The Assurance of Three Major Bases and a Professional Team
The "Adora Magic City" project was large-scale with a tight schedule, representing a comprehensive test of Yousenyuan's overall delivery capabilities. The company relied on its mature collaborative system across three major production bases: the Taicang Shaxi core base handled the precision manufacturing of wooden and metal furniture; the Taicang Qingdao Road base, with its advanced automated painting lines, provided all products with surface treatment meeting marine specifications, ensuring corrosion resistance and aesthetics; and a dedicated engineering installation team was stationed at the shipyard, working closely with the main contractor. They efficiently and meticulously completed the installation and commissioning of the ship's entire furniture system in strict accordance with the project timeline, ensuring smooth delivery.
The success of the "Adora Magic City" project is not only a significant milestone in Yousenyuan's history but also a microcosm of the rise of China's marine equipment industry. It proves that domestic enterprises are fully capable and technologically equipped to provide high-quality interior solutions for world-class marine projects. Taking this as an opportunity, Yousenyuan will continue to deepen its expertise in the marine furniture field. Upholding the philosophy of "Innovative Design, Precise Manufacturing," the company is committed to serving global high-end clients and contributing to China's journey from a "major shipbuilding country" to a "shipbuilding powerhouse."
